IMC Update #2 2007

~ First speakers for New York and Stockholm
~ Content questions for IMC in 2007
~ Agenda news 2007 - User generated session
~ Omniture Acquires Instadia
~ American Online wants to buy Tradedoubler

Greetings,

What a week; shareholders from the biggest Internet Marketing Success from Sweden, Tradedoubler got a bid from American Online, Instadia was purchased by Omniture and new speakers are added to IMC New York and Stockholm.

==> FIRST SPEAKERS TO NEW YORK AND STOCKHOLM

It's a privilege of having so many nice readers of IMC Update that gives so much great feedback and reactions of interest.

The two first speakers that I can confirm for IMC in 2007 are of huge interest to our general theme "content" and are great personalities.

For New York on June 5th, Kirk Drummond of the T-3 agency has been confirmed. T-3 is a great friend of IMC since Gay Gaddis, their CEO, visited us in Montreal 2004.

For Stockholm on November 29-30th, Stefan Engeseth of DetectiveMarketing has been confirmed. Stefan is truly a pioneer in his field of creating conference controversy about business issues. He's a writer, sought after speaker and a fantastic performer.

==> CONTENT QUESTIONS FOR IMC IN 2007

One of the biggest issues for the net in 2007 is to distinguish between "User versus Producer generated content". As more and more sites are getting content from its visitors - how do you know which is which as a visitor and do you have to know it?

On the same issue is the case of selling ads. It seems to be harder to generate ad revenues for user generated content than producer generated content. Is this the case and if so - what can you do to sell more ads?

How do you track success for different content types? Video, Flash, Forums, Blogs, iFrames (content from other sites) are making it harder and more difficult to measure how successful you are. How do you measure "everything"?

Who is responsible for content? In legal terms, in terms of "getting it done", in tracking its origin etc. Can you "take" content from other sites and link to it? This is a very delicate question that very few is addressing.

==> AGENDA NEWS 2007 - ONE USER GENERATED SESSION

In 2007 - 1 hour in both Stockholm and in New York will be generated by "You". Directly after lunch, you and the rest of the session attendees will be given a chance of by yourself speak up and tell what you think is the "Most important issue as regards to content".

This will be a one hour moderated session that is not prepared in advance. We've got backup:), if the case happens that nobody likes to give their thoughts, but I think this will be a huge success and an ability to get your involvement highlighted.

==> OMNITURE ACQUIRES INSTADIA

The company that I've recently joined to represent in Sweden, Instadia, was acquired by its competitor Omniture on Thursday last week. A bold move that seems logical in terms of products and clients. I'm now in preparation to be skilled in Omniture's offerings.

==> AMERICA ONLINE WANTS TO BUY TRADEDOUBLER

According to my sources American Online was interested in buying Tradedoubler already a year and a half ago but thought it was too expensive. Now they've changed their mind but then it seems they're not getting it after all. AOL seems to be a hesitant company.
